of our Church
A tour of the impressive art and architecture of St. George’s-by-the-River will be guided by Constance Gryczka. The stones of St. George’s enclose a wealth of visual beauty making this historical landmark worthy of a closer look.
During the tour, she will explain the historical origins within and outside of our notable church with a focus on how we got from Ancient Roman civic buildings and Medieval fortifications to a house of worship conveying the Christian virtues
of faith, hope and charity.
This 30 minute free tour starts from the rear pews of the center aisle (nave) of the Church on Saturday and Sunday at 11:15 and 1:15.
We have invited all participating artists to donate artwork which patrons have the opportunity to win. Tickets may be purchased at the reception on Friday and during the day on Saturday, Sunday and Monday. Drawings will be held Friday night and at the end of Saturday, Sunday and Monday.
Look for the helping hands stickers on their artwork which will prominently identify them at the show.
During the daytime show hours, artists will be painting and drawing on the church premises so that patrons will be able to see the creative process in action. Look for the balloons and sitting areas around the premises to enjoy and interract with them.
Live Auction - NEW THIS YEAR. Kravetz Auctions will be facilitating the auction of pieces which may include paintings, photos, sculpture, glassworks, jewelry, ceramics, wood and metal items and mixed-media. The auction will take place on Sunday, September 3, 4pm - 6pm
